Reading slumps are the devils work, as I'm sure people who have suffered from them before will know. I have so many books I want to read; so many books I need to read, but alas, no book has been able to drag me out of this hole I seem to have found myself in.
Currently, I'm trying to read 'The 5th Wave' by Rick Yancey, and while I am enjoying it, everything I'm reading just isn't...sticking. And by that, I mean I could read the same paragraph five times and not even realise because none of the words have actually registered in my head. The writing hasn't stuck.
And I'm really struggling to snap myself out of it.
So I was wondering, are any of you guys currently experiencing your very own reading slump? Or how have you gotten over them in the past?
If any of you have suggestions for a lighthearted read, please comment below. Thanks!
